Biography

Tobias Ackermann studied sociology and political science at the University of Zurich and received his PhD in sociology at the University of Bern in 2024. Parallel to his PhD he worked at the Interfaculty Centre for Educational Research at the University of Bern and completed the course program for doctoral students of the Swiss Leading House VPET-ECON on economics of education. Prior to his PhD he worked as scientific collaborator at the University Research Priority Program “Dynamics of Healthy Aging” at the University of Zurich.

Expertise

During his PhD, Tobias has specialised in quantitative research and focused on analysing data from large-scale assessment in education.  He further conducted various record linkages, where he linked data from national large-scale assessments to data on the participants from registries and surveys from the Federal Statistical Office of Switzerland. At FORS, Tobias is currently working on external and internal mandates.
