Biography

Peter Farago, Dr. phil., was until his retirement in August 2016 Director of FORS and Professor at the University of Lausanne. A sociologist by formation, he has more than 30 years experience in empirical social research, both inside and outside academia. He has directed numerous scientific research projects, and he was the central coordinator and manager of the largest social science research programme ever run in Switzerland with more than 100 projects (“Demain la Suisse”, funded by the Swiss NSF).

Expertise

Peter Farago’s research interests include: social reporting, social indicators, and social policy; policy and programme evaluation; survey research methodology. He is co-editor of a volume on „Understanding Research Infrastructures in the Social Sciences“ (2013, Zurich: Seismo).
