FORS-DaSCH webinar series:
Data Management for the Social Sciences and Humanities
FORS and the Swiss National Data and Service Center for the Humanities (DaSCH) are happy to announce the launch of a new series of online data management webinars. The webinars are free of charge and are specifically designed for researchers in the humanities and social sciences who collect and/or process research data in the Swiss context.
The first workshop will be on Planning Data Management. It will take place on November 6, 2024 (2-3.30 pm) and will be led by Rita Gautschy (DaSCH) and Auriane Marmier (FORS).
After a brief introduction to Open Science, the origins of the DMP, and the various requirements from the funder and legal perspectives, the webinar will present two case studies of particular interest to the humanities and social sciences. These will follow the SNSF template and focus on projects collecting different types of data that often raise challenges for researchers, namely images and interview data. The webinar will then conclude with a 30-minute discussion on DMPs. By the end you should be able to better understand the SNSF requirements when it comes to data management planning and understand the subtilities of treating images and/or interview data.
Save the date: The second workshop will be on the FAIR and CARE principles and will take place on February 5th, 2025. More details will follow.
