Biography

Pedro Araujo holds a PhD in social sciences from the University of Lausanne. Since 2015, he has been a member of the Swiss Elite Observatory. Previously, he was a visiting scholar at the Department of Sociology of Columbia University and a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Management of the University of Fribourg. He joined FORS in 2024 as a specialist in open research data.

Expertise

Pedro Araujo is part of the DMS (Data Management Services) team and is interested in infrastructures and services that support the management of research data (data security, privacy, etc.). He conducts research on elites, with a particular interest in the analysis of resources and careers and the inequalities in accessing positions of power. His expertise extends to the management of qualitative and quantitative data, with a specific emphasis on historical and sensitive data. Currently, Pedro is working on a project that analyses best practices for integrating open research data in research proposal assessments and recruitment processes among Swiss higher education institutions.
