Marieke Heers has a PhD in the Economics of Education from Maastricht University. She has worked as post-doctoral researcher at the French Institute for Demographic Studies (INED). At INED, Marieke was involved in the project “Veniromond – Coming into the World: Social environment at Birth, Family Structures and Early Education”, funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR). In 2015, Marieke joined DARIS as a Senior Researcher.
Marieke has specialised in the collection, preparation and analysis of quantitative data in the fields of educational research and family demography. Currently, she is working in the FORS data promotion group and is involved in the projects CH-X and the Swiss assessment of educational competencies, as well as in several activities related to data management.
