Biography

Alexandra Stam is a senior researcher at FORS since 2009 and works within the Data Management & Archive Services (DMAS) unit. She is leading the Data Management Services (DMS) group and is particularly interested in data management and the promotion of data sharing and secondary analysis. She completed her PhD at the University of Dundee (Scotland) in 2011 on ‘marriage migration and the geographies of love’, combining both quantitative and qualitative methods.

Expertise

Particular interest in data management and how to help others apply good research practices. She is involved in a number of national and international collaborations to strengthen data management. Alexandra Stam is also currently leading the 2016-2017 Swiss Federal Survey of Adolescents (ch-x), which investigates geographical mobility among young people. Other research interests: New forms of migration, particularly student mobility, and marriage migration.
