We are pleased to announce that Professor André Berchtold from the University of Lausanne will give a workshop on “Missing data and data imputation with the Swiss Household Panel”. This three-day course will introduce the participants to the key elements related to missing data (MD). In a first step, they will examine the potential causes of MD and rigorously define the main types of MD. Then, they will consider the consequences of such data for a survey, and they will explore the different ways to treat missing information. A particular emphasis will be put on the imputation of MD, using single and multiple approaches, both in cross-sectional and longitudinal contexts. The impact of imputation on statistical results, especially in the case of longitudinal studies, will be described.
Participation in this workshop costs 200.- CHF.
The SHP-team will also give an introduction to the Swiss Household Panel data on June 11th 2018: “An introduction to the Swiss Household Panel and data management using SPSS”. We will present the structure of the SHP data, i.e. the different questionnaires and the organization of the SHP data files. Syntaxes to construct different types of files with SPSS will be presented and developed.
Participation in this workshop is free of charge.
