We offer the following position:

  • Junior Software Developer

To strengthen our IT team, we are looking for a Junior Software Developer. Are you an enthusiastic, talented and motivated junior software developer, at ease with the latest web technologies and OOP? Are you willing to take a role in the design and implementation of the next generation of web applications and infrastructures to be used by the social science research community? Job Description

  • Work on all phases of application development (conception, development, testing and bug fixing, deployment, maintenance and documentation)
  • Help to maintain our existing software by providing bug fixes
  • Participate in testing process through writing test cases, unit tests and bug fixes
  • Participate in peer reviews of solution designs and related code
  • Support in the creation and maintenance of documentation
  • Participate in daily scrum meetings and sprint planning

Qualifications

  • University degree in Software Engineering or equivalent
  • Around 2 years of web software development experience
  • Very good understanding of object oriented software development
  • Good understanding of relational databases (e.g. MySQL)
  • Experience in UI development (e.g. JavaScript, JQuery, Angular, HTML5)
  • Familiarity with version control concepts
  • English and French or German spoken and written

Experience with Python/Django, Angular, HTML5, Bootstrap and Git will be considered as an asset

Interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated, team player, action and results oriented
  • Well organized, good communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to learn fast and work on several projects at the same time
