Biography

Michael Ochsner studied sociology, social pedagogy and environmental sciences and received his PhD in sociology at the University of Zurich in 2014. From 2009 until 2013 he worked at ETH Zurich in the field of research evaluation. Since 2013, he has been working at FORS as a senior researcher in the International Surveys team as well as at ETH Zurich in the field of research evaluation. He is vice-president of the European Association EvalHum (www.evalhum.eu).

Expertise

Michael Ochsner is involved in the implementation of the ESS and MOSAiCH in Switzerland. He is leading the Swiss part of the ERANET-RUS project “Public Attitudes to Welfare, Climate Change and Energy in the EU and Russia (PAWCER)“. Regarding methodology, he is studying the effect of survey languages on representation and bias. Furthermore, he is the leader of WG1 in the COST-Action CA15137 ENRESSH “European Network for Research Evaluation in the SSH” (www.enressh.eu).
